Message from Sheriff

The term "serve and protect" has been around for a long time, but we often think of it simply as apprehending someone who broke the law, or stopping someone who is committing a crime. Although that is part of what we do, I believe the role of protecting our citizens goes much further. It also includes protecting our constitutional rights and protecting our citizens from anyone who would try to violate those rights. Our rights guaranteed to us by our constitution are what make this Country great. As a law enforcement agency, our goal is to work with the citizens and community leaders to develop a positive relationship between law enforcement and the community. As Sheriff of Vernon County, I will strive to protect the citizens of Vernon County, hunt down those who harm others, and protect our freedoms that are secured by the United States constitution.
