02/09/2018

Six houses were raided by a team of Investigators and Deputies Thursday as part of a drug distribution case that has been ongoing since the first of the year. According to Sheriff’s Office Officials, search warrants were served by a team on Anderson Street in Sheldon, 1200 Road Southwest of Nevada, 1500 road near Horton, Floral Street in Nevada, Main Street in Nevada, and Lynn Street in Nevada.

Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said two people with outstanding warrants were located during the event Tuesday and that suspected drug paraphernalia and illegal drugs were located in all six homes. “We will be sending evidence from each location to the Missouri State Crime lab for processing” said Mosher. The Sheriff said stolen property was located at one location and is in the process of being returned to the owner.

According to officials, a total of 8 search warrants took place during the entire investigation that started in January with a search warrant being served in Stotesbury, and the arrest of a Sheldon man a few weeks later. Mosher said Bruce W Younce, 47 of Sheldon was arrested on January 30 at a home North of Nevada by detectives after a lengthy period of surveillance. Suspected methamphetamines and scales were located after a search warrant was served on Younce’s vehicle.  Younce has been charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance and is being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $25,000 cash only bond. Mosher said charges on multiple suspects involving the case are pending the results of lab analysis.
