Nevada women arrested for burglary of storage units

08/01/2016

A Nevada resident has been charged with burglary and theft after deputies received a call regarding a storage unit with missing items. According to Sheriff’s Office officials, deputies were dispatched on 7/29/2016 to a storage unit that had been burglarized on West Hickory Street just outside the city limits of Nevada. Video captured at the scene and turned over to deputies provided a description of the suspected vehicle used in the crime. Deputies were able to identify the vehicle and set up surveillance over the weekend at a location they believed the vehicle would be. Once the vehicle was found, a traffic stop was made and stolen items from the storage unit were recovered.

The suspect has been identified as 50-year-old Julie A Nelson of Nevada. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said the deputies did an excellent job at identifying the suspect and recovering stolen property. “They acted on the information quickly and apprehended the suspect within a few days of taking the report.” Warrants were issued over the weekend for Nelson charging her with 2nd Degree Burglary, and felony Theft. Nelson is currently being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond.
